I like your idea here to memorize a book. This keeps the verse in context and keeps in mind who the writer was talking to. I have not done this before, so the idea sounds interesting to me.

I started trying to memoirze verses from the bible when I was about 11 or 12, I think, and now our five and seven year old are working on it. We were involved in the A.W.A.N.A.S. program for three years and our family focus was scripture memrory. We use Rod and Staff curriculum for our home school text books and we get more scripture memory and digging in with the reading program.

I suppose my point in sharing is that I like this idea and may try it, but for now my plate is full with how we are doing things. Thank you for the new idea in my pack though, I really appriciate it.

Have a blessed day and thank you again. Sincerely, Mommy of two growing blessings & so much more!

  2. I read this on my phone and tried to comment!! I gave up!! I was waiting for my daughter while she took a College Plus exam. I read another blogger’s idea for memorizing (Gail, over at Bible Love Notes, I believe) she is going to read a chapter once every hour for eight hours each day for five days. Since I had time while I was waiting and the day was half gone, I read the first chapter of Colossians 8 times. I have been struggling with memorizing and haven’t gotten very far.
